Al Ghuwariyah is a small municipality that lies on the north-western edges of Qatar. On its western side are the shores of the Persian Gulf. Back in 1916 the emirates of Qatar became a British protectorate for some time. Only in 1971 Qatar went fully independent. Al Ghuwariyah is one of the ten municipalities of Qatar and much like the rest of the peninsula, it is a barren plain, covered with sand. Most of Qatar's residents are made up of expatriates that hail from across the globe. The local petrochemical industry has attracted thousands of people to relocate. Visiting Qatar will make you feel welcome as the people are very friendly and with sunshine year round it is easy to like Qatar.
