About Qatar

Qatar is an Arabic Emirate situated in Southwest Asia on the small Qatar peninsula. The name Qatar translates from the Arabic language into English as something like “exude tar” which is in relation to the vats natural resources of Qatar’s petroleum and natural gas. Qatar became independent as a state in 1973 after being dominated for centuries by the Ottoman and the British.

Famous for its fishing and pearling industry back in the 1920s, today Qatar is focused on developing its oil and gas industry and maintain their high quality of life. The Emirate is ruled by Emir “Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani” since 1995. Liberation of women’s rights and the healthy overall economy makes it an affable place to Westerners too.

Despite being a slow starter, Qatar is a rapidly evolving destination. With new luxury hotels being built, showcasing pristine beaches, impressive sand dunes and ancient rock carvings, Qatar offers its visitors gentle hospitality and lazy sun-filled days. The simple beauty of the Emirate coupled with the sparkling waters of the Arabian Gulf it is a heaven for visitors and real estate investors alike. The recent boom of the Emirate has made it a popular choice for many who wish to expand their property portfolio.
